Skills: Communications, Mixed Media Design
The Eastern Communication Association is the oldest professional organization of scholars, teachers, and students of communication studies. In the spring of 2025, I was awarded the unique opportunity of flying to Buffalo, NY to present my original research to 480+ attendees from around the country in the James C. McCroskey and Virginia P. Richmond Undergraduate Scholars Conference. The goal of our research was to observe how "The Sopranos" as a piece of popular media demonstrates valuable communication concepts, and how the positive and negative uses of listening styles can contribute to our push towards effective and ethical communication in the future.
In order to complement the themes of our research, I created a mixed media poster with stationary to represent the stability of Dr. Melfi, and cash to represent the goals of Tony Soprano. I scanned these physical objects and brought them together in Adobe Photoshop to develop & print the poster.
